project brief
Baoshijie designed a 135g multipurpose bath soap bar available in three variants: Classic Fresh, Herbal Cool, and Milk & Honey. The first 1x40ft container was shipped in August 2022 and distributed through BBB’s wholesale partners in Port-au-Prince and Gonaïves. Sales exceeded expectations, especially in rural markets where brand loyalty is often built through affordability and familiarity. The project has since expanded into wrapped value packs (3-in-1), and Baoshijie is now supporting BBB with a customized hotel-size bath soap range for the Haitian hospitality sector.

The challenge
1.Climate & Logistics: Shipping by sea required products that could endure extended transit times, port congestion, and temperatures exceeding 40°C in containers.
2.Affordability vs. Performance: Haitian consumers demand good lather and fragrance in a low-cost bar—requiring Baoshijie to optimize ingredients and production without compromising usability.
3.Retail Environment Adaptation: Soaps would be sold in open-air markets and small shops without air conditioning, so packaging had to be moisture-resistant, stackable, and visually durable.
project goals
In 2022, Baoshijie Soap partnered with BBB Trade Company, a leading Haitian importer and distributor of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), to develop and supply a line of affordable, durable bath soaps tailored for the Haitian mass market. This initiative was part of BBB’s strategy to offer reliable hygiene products through local supermarkets, wholesalers, and informal retail networks..
